I've attended several talks in the past about copyright in the digital age and the role of Creative Commons and the one comment that has stuck with me came from a lawyer at an LCACE seminar when she commented that copyright is not there to protect the author/creator but to protect the publisher as it is primarily an instrument for the control of distribution, so I guess that as I'm already posting photos on the web (a publishing medium) I'm already relinquishing that control... so I've gone for non-commercial share alike.
